Nguyen Quoc Tri
(1921-1967) had been a war hero
against French colonialists during
French Vietnam War (1945-1953)
biography
(from Wikipedia [web03] - translated from
Vietnamese into German with google
translate, and from German into English
with Deepl)
Nguyen Quoc Tri was one of the first
four military heroes of Vietnam
[with the other heroes Cu Chinh Lan,
La Van Cau and Nguyen Thi Chien].
- He was born in 1921
in Phuong Ky village, Da Son
commune, Do Luong district, Nghe
An province. Before the August
Revolution, Nguyen Quoc Tri
participated in activities
against the policy of educating
people to become real human
beings. In the process, he was
to be arrested by the French
colonialists.
- In 1944, Japan met
the French troops in Vietnam. He
and his brother ended up in
prison. With the pioneering
self-defense, he attacked the
landing Japanese and killed 10
opponents with his troop and
burned 5 vehicles.
- When the August
Revolution was successful, he
joined the main force. In late
1946 - early 1947, he
volunteered for numerous battles
in Vinh, Hue and Dong Ha, where
the team killed hundreds of
people and captured numerous
enemies, killing 19 French
soldiers and two Japanese
soldiers himself.
- In the border
campaign in the fall of 1950,
Nguyen Quoc Tri ordered a unit
to strike two combat troops of
the Air Force Regiment,
disbanding and seizing 22 men
and their unit. In doing so, he
thwarted the plans of the French
military, which now could not
field divisions. The French
troops were disbanding more and
more.
- On May 19, 1952,
Nguyen Quoc Tri was named a Hero
of the People's Army. He was one
of the first four heroes of the
Vietnam People's Army (with Cu
Chinh Lan, La Van Cau and Nguyen
Thi Chien).
- On October 10,
1954, after returning to Hanoi,
he was regimental commander of
the Main Division of the First
Army Group and was appointed
flag bearer on Liberation Day
and accepted this honorary post.
- On August 16, 1967,
Nguyen Quoc Tri was the head of
the Military School of Military
Zone 4, where he died by a "US"
bomb in his native village of
Phuong Ky.
